BigDataCloud's IP Geolocation operates through an automated, patented algorithm that consolidates and prioritises data from multiple sources. As a result, we do not process individual requests to update information used by our IP Geolocation APIs. However, we offer two ways for you to update your IP location data.
Important Note: To update your location, you must perform these steps while connected to the specific network(s) you wish to update, as our system uses your connection's IP address for identification.
Visit the "What Is My IP" Page:
Navigate to our What Is My IP page. You’ll be prompted to share your location, initiating the update process.
If you’ve previously granted location-sharing permissions, you won’t see the prompt again—this is normal. Rest assured, the data you’ve already shared is being used to ensure accurate results for your IP.
If you previously denied location-sharing and the prompt no longer appears, simply click the secure badge (padlock icon) in your browser’s address bar. From there, adjust the location settings to “Allow.”
For mobile users, we provide an advanced IP Geolocation and Network Information app available on both iOS and Android platforms.
Install the App:
Download and install the app on a mobile device connected to the network(s) you want to update.
Activate the IPv4 Mapper:
Open the app and enable the IPv4 mapper feature. Be sure to grant location-sharing permission when prompted.
By sharing your device’s location, the application will feed this data into our algorithm, improving the accuracy of your IP geolocation.
Final Note:
Using either method, your location data will be processed anonymously and integrated into our algorithm to ensure precise IP location results. Please allow up to 24 hours for these changes to propagate across our global API network.
