How an individual can update their location?

BigDataCloud's IP geolocation uses a patented automated system (US Patent No. 11,792,110 B2) that maps the internet's routing infrastructure to determine where IP addresses are in use. We don't process manual correction requests — the system updates continuously based on observed network data.

That said, you can help improve accuracy for your IP address in two ways. Both methods require you to be on the network you want to update, as the system uses your connection's IP address for identification.

Method 1: From a browser — visit our What is my IP page and allow location sharing when prompted. Your GPS or browser location will be paired with your IP address and factored into our data within 24 hours.

Method 2: Via our mobile app — download the BigDataCloud app, connect to the network you want to update, enable the IPv4 Mapper feature, and accept the location permission. Updates reflect within 24 hours.
